The Frequency of Listening.
Calming the nervous system is more than just relaxing the body: it's about changing frequency. It's about leaving external agitation and entering a more subtle field, where listening becomes possible.
I realized this when I was searching for answers about astral projection. There was a period when, even while meditating, I felt as if my mentors spoke very softly, almost inaudibly, and this irritated me. I wondered: "Why don't they speak louder? Why do I have to try so hard to hear them?"
Today I understand that the issue wasn't with them.
I simply wasn't on the same frequency. Even though I cleansed my auric field daily and aligned my chakras, my nervous system remained overstimulated. And in that state, the result was natural: communication became difficult to perceive clearly.
Their frequency came from calmness, silence, and subtlety. I, on the other hand, was still connected to agitation, constant stimuli, and external noise. But as my nervous system calmed down, my perception expanded and the attunement happened naturally. And along with it came a clearer understanding not only of them, but of existence itself around me.
For a long time I wondered: “How did meditation lead me to be able to hear them, if there are days when I can’t?” Over time, I realized that the answer wasn’t just in meditation itself.
Because even on calm days and during long practices, my mind could still be agitated, my nervous system could still be out of balance, and I remained tuned to a different frequency than theirs.
It was then that I understood that the attunement depended on my internal state. That’s why, at some moments, the connection happened naturally, and at others, it didn’t. Not because they weren’t present, but because I wasn’t yet on the same frequency to perceive them clearly.
The excess of movies, series, sounds, social media, haste, and information keeps the body in a constant state of excitement. Gradually, this distances us from the frequency of silence and presence, where perception becomes clearer and more sensitive.
When we are always focused on external stimuli, it becomes more difficult to perceive what is happening within us. Therefore, it is important to remember: the body is the anchor that tunes us to the reality we wish to experience. And calming the nervous system opens the doors to internal reconnection, allowing listening, presence, and perception to happen more naturally.
That's why, when I meditate using mantras, I find that I can hear them more clearly.
First, my body calms down, my nervous system finds balance, and my mind slows down. Then, the attunement happens naturally — fluid, light, without haste, and without the excess of stimuli that normally occupy my attention.
The mantra works, for me, as an anchor, guiding my consciousness to a more subtle, serene frequency, closer to the one in which I can perceive them more easily.
Today I understand that it's not about forcing perception, but about staying attuned to a calm, stable, and receptive frequency. My mentors don't need to descend into my agitation to show me the way; on the contrary, they help me understand what I need to adjust within myself to consciously achieve this attunement.
The frequency of calm, presence, and living silence is one of the gateways to communication with the inner world and also with the reality around us. It was precisely this frequency that I began to access when I started my meditation practices.
At the time, my goal was simply to calm myself and regulate a nervous system that had long been experiencing periods of stress and tension. What I didn't yet understand was that, while finding this state of balance, I was also strengthening a form of communication that was becoming increasingly clear and consistent.
And meditation was the instrument that allowed me to cultivate this presence. It brought more harmony to my nervous system and, along with the internal commands I used during practice, helped direct my attention inward, gradually distancing it from external noise.
As this happened, it became easier to perceive what my mentors were trying to communicate to me.
But one thing became clear to me: when the body finds stillness and the nervous system calms down, a space of profound receptivity opens up. And it is in this space, free from excess noise and constant urgency, that communication happens naturally, fluidly, and spontaneously.
This process requires understanding and time. Understanding to recognize,
feel, and sustain the frequency of listening. It takes time for this
perception to mature naturally, transforming into experience and wisdom.
